The patent relates to Real-Time Location systems for locating and identifying specific portable devices within an enclosure. The patented technology addresses decreased battery power consumption. The following terms are construed:

  1. Detect the ultrasonic location codes
  2. Means for transmitting timing synchronization information
  3. Means for receiving the output signal from each of the portable devices
  4. Timing/Time Synchronization Information
  5. Time server
  6. Beacon
