The third public comment period for the LEED 2012 update will open on Mar. 1 and close on Mar. 20, 2012. Then LEED 2012 will be voted on in June and launch in November, 2012.
Hines - Mar 1
The EPA recognized Hines with the 2012 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award for leadership in energy efficiency. This is the fifth time Hines has received the Sustained Excellence Award. Hines' 71 million sq.ft. portfolio of ENERGY STAR buildings is 35.9 percent more energy efficient than the national average, with an average performance rating of 82.
USGBC Northern California Chapter - Feb 26 The 2012 Green California Summit and Exposition, the state's largest annual conference addressing California's environmental policies and the technologies that support them, will take place April 26 and 27 at the Sacramento Convention Center.

A free eight-week course on green building starts April 3 at MiraCosta College in California with orientation on Feb. 21, Feb. 28 or March 7. The 120-hour program gives an overview of green construction including construction, environmental training and energy fundamentals.
