Alcoa and Toto launched a coil-coated architectural panel that employs antimicrobial technology to clean both itself and the surrounding air. Alcoa says 10,000 sq.ft. of the EcoClean panels can clean the air as effectively as 80 medium-sized deciduous trees. Toto’s Hydrotect technology enables the panels to break down pollutants when exposed to sunlight. Once pollutants are broken down, the residue is washed away by rainwater.
