The Vento bands for “injury to feelings” awards in discrimination claims have been increased. The new figures, applicable to claims issued on or after 6 April 2018, are as follows:

Lower band, for the least serious cases: £900 to £8,600 (previously £800 to £8,400)

Middle band, for serious cases that do not merit an award in the highest band: £8,600 to £25,700 (previously £8,400 to £25,200)

Higher band, for the most serious cases: £25,700 to £42,900 (previously £25,200 to £42,000)

Exceptional cases: £42,900+ (previously £42,000+)
