OSHA to Extend Deadline for Electronic Submission of Injury and Illness Summaries

Sherman & Howard L.L.C.

OSHA has announced that it “intends to propose extending the July 1, 2017 deadline” for the first phase of its rule requiring the electronic submission of injury and illness records. The July deadline was for employers in certain categories to electronically submit their OSHA 300A annual summaries. The extension does not come as a surprise, as OSHA has not created a portal for employers to utilize in order to make their submissions. No new deadline has been set. We will be providing further updates as this issue develops.
