Keeping a lid on things – Court of Appeal decides limit on future pensionable pay is valid
The Court of Appeal has dismissed an appeal from a High Court decision that the imposition of a cap on the pensionable element of pay rises was valid. It was within the employer's power under the scheme rules and it was not a breach of the anti-forfeiture rules or the employer's duty of trust and confidence.

Could do better – but scheme not liable for member's failure to apply for a transfer within 12 months of retirement
In Mrs G, the Pensions Ombudsman decided that a scheme was not liable for the failure to complete a transfer of a member's final salary benefits to a SIPP in advance of the cut-off date of 12 months before normal retirement date.
