  • Massachusetts AG Andrea Joy Campbell announced citations issued against Idea Painting Company and its owner for failure to pay employees sick or overtime wages and failure to keep or furnish accurate wage records, in violation of Massachusetts labor laws.
  • According to AG Campbell, Idea Painting failed to pay proper overtime wages and instead paid workers only their straight hourly wage, and allegedly failed to track or pay employees’ sick time. This case was referred to the AG’s office by the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 35.
  • The citations require Idea Painting to pay $511,045.50 in civil penalties.
