In September 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law the California Age Appropriate Design Code Act (CAADCA). Beginning July 1, 2024, the act will require businesses that provide online services or features “likely to be accessed by children” to take a number of steps, including conducting a data protection impact assessment. Learn how this law overlaps with existing children’s privacy law requirements and what steps your company can take to establish compliance before it goes into effect. This will be particularly relevant for gaming clients and companies with apps handling children’s data.
