Formed in 1999, Levenfeld Pearlstein (LP) is a model of inspiration and dedication in a world where many young law firms struggle to find their niche and path to success. The Firm was born of the desire to create a different kind of Chicago law firm, one driven to succeed through well-honed and entrepreneurial business sense and governed by the values that guide each of us in our private lives.
Now celebrating our thirteenth anniversary, this vision has helped us quickly grow to become one of the most respected, most successful and most desirable law firms in which to work.
From the start, the Firm has been run like a corporation -- unlike a traditional law firm -- with our attorneys well supported by a strong centralized management. This allows us to excel in two critical areas -- creating an environment where Chicago attorneys can make the best use of their time practicing law, and developing the value-focused culture based on integrity, compassion and justice that defines Levenfeld Pearlstein.
We focus on building business relationships with clients as trusted strategic advisors, not just as lawyers. Our attorneys understand their clients’ business and industry inside and out, seeking legal solutions that support the client’s long-term business strategy as well as short term needs. Our clients routinely tell us that this is what sets us apart. Begun with 23 lawyers, LP is now comprised of more than 120 employees, including 60 attorneys. Our Real Estate Practice Group has been named number one in the Midwest for the second consecutive year by Midwest Real Estate News.
Culture of Responsibility
Our focus on corporate social responsibility is as important to us as our partnerships with our clients and forms a cornerstone of our business strategy. From corporate giving and community outreach to our employees to our commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility touches every area of our business.
LP is now carbon neutral, as the first Chicago law firm to join the Chicago Climate Exchange. We are the first law firm in the United States to create a pilot program adopting the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Model Commitment to Sustainability for a Law Organization. Our approach to sustainability is published on the ABA website.
In addition, we strive to create an environment for our employees that is both supportive and encouraging. LP was named one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois, by Business Ledger -- the only law firm to receive this distinction – in both 2007, 2008 and 2009.
