Some good coronavirus news.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued a notice today saying that it intends to delay the collection of 2019 Component 1 data until March 2021.

Employers will be required to submit their Category 1 EEO-1 data for both 2019 and 2020 by a specific date to be determined in March 2021.

Collection of data for EEO-3 (applicable to local referral unions) and EEO-5 reports (applicable to public elementary and secondary schools) is also being delayed. The EEOC expects to begin collecting this data on a specific date to be determined in January 2021.

The EEOC says that the delays are "consistent with delays in Federal reporting requirements across the government and other actions taken to relieve employers of unnecessary burdens during this [COVID-19] crisis . . .."

Hat tip to the great Cara Crotty for alerting me to this!
