I always say that you should never be a spectator in your own life; you need to be an active participant in shaping your own life. Too often, a retirement plan sponsor acts like a spectator when the plan sponsor neglects their plan and ends up becoming a patsy when the plan is under Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or Department of Labor (DOL) review.
