Minnesota Committee Deadlines Announced

On Friday, the Minnesota House and Senate DFL leadership announced the committee deadlines and timeline for the remainder of the 2013 session. Those deadlines and other major dates for the 2013 session are as follows:

January 22: Governor’s Budget Presented

February 6: Governor’s State of the State Message

February 28: February Budget Forecast Released

March 15: First Committee Deadline – All policy bills must be acted on
favorably in committees in one body (either the House or Senate)
to proceed

March 22: Second Committee Deadline – Any bill that met first committee deadline,
must be acted on favorably by policy committees in the other body

March 22: Beginning of Easter/Passover Spring Break

April 19: Third/Final Committee Deadline – All tax, finance and omnibus bills
must be through all committees and headed to the Floor

May 20: Constitutional Adjournment Deadline
