The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) recently unveiled an updated version of the Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form.

Federal contractors and subcontractors use this form to collect data indicating the representation of employees with disabilities in their workforces. The data is then used to develop contractors’ Affirmative Action Plans and to ensure compliance with Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, which states that federal contractors and subcontractors should aim to reach a goal of 7% utilization for individuals with disabilities.

It is important that contractors have accurate and complete data, especially in the event of a Section 503 compliance review, or a more extensive OFCCP audit. For this reason, employee response rates are critical.

The new streamlined version of the form, which is available for download here, was developed by the OFCCP in response to stakeholder feedback and is designed to increase employee response rates.

Federal contractors and subcontractors have until August 4, 2020 to fully implement the new form. Until the new form is completely integrated, contractors must continue to use the 2017 version.
