Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP He's a talented guy. He hardly said a thing.

The confirmation hearing for President Trump's nominee for Secretary of Labor, Eugene Scalia, took place yesterday.

The nominee did a good job -- I'm not sure he answered a single question.

This clip where he was questioned about LGBT rights was so uninformative that it made me laugh.

Of course, that's the way it works in politics. Don't ever say anything that will come back to bite you. And I'm exaggerating -- he did answer a few questions:

Could you be fair? Yes.

Would you have an unfair bias against workers? No.

Would you follow the law? Yes.

Do you have opinions about the proposed overtime and joint employer regulations? Those are complex issues that require more study.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee is scheduled to vote Tuesday on whether to advance Mr. Scalia's nomination for a vote by the full Senate. Confirmation is expected.
