401(k) plans have been criticized for creating the retirement crisis in this country by helping the phase out of pension plans, hidden fees, poor mutual funds, and a lack of education offered to participants who direct their 401(k) account’s investments. The fact is that most of the criticisms of 401(k) plans are rooted in daily valued participant directed 401(k) plans which have been a blessing and curse for the growth of 401(k) plans.
