DonaldTrump.flickrCC.iprimagesWe’ll try to keep you up to date with the latest labor and employment law news from the Trump Administration via a series of mini-posts as news develops.

According to Politico‘s Morning Shift, “President Trump ordered executive departments and agencies to freeze all pending regulations until the administration could review them.” This would include the DOL overtime rule, which has already been stalled by a preliminary injunction issued in November by federal Judge Amos Mazzant. The DOL appealed, but it is likely that the Trump Administration will ultimately withdraw the appeal.

The Morning Shift also reports that President Trump is scheduled to meet this afternoon with union leaders for a “listening session.” We don’t know who exactly the President will be meeting with, but shortly after the election, the United Auto Workers union pledged to try to work with him on “dismantling” the North American Free Trade Agreement. President Trump is expected to sign today an executive order withdrawing the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. (UPDATE (1:55 p.m. EST): We’re officially out of TPP.)

The confirmation hearing for Andrew Puzder as Secretary of Labor has been postponed twice, and is currently scheduled for February 2. He is facing vigorous opposition, but still appears likely to be confirmed.

UPDATE (1:55 p.m. EST): President Trump has signed an Executive Order imposing a federal hiring freeze.
