Jessica Arett is an associate in the firm’s Litigation practice group. Through the use of strategic thinking, she turns complex situations into a resolution. Jessica’s decisions within her practice are guided by the best interest of the client as well as the integrity of the profession. She assists her clients in every stage of the case in order to achieve a desirable outcome. Jessica is certified through the IAPP (U.S.) as an Information Privacy Professional. Prior to joining Sherman & Howard, Jessica worked as a law clerk for Justice Richard Gabriel of the Colorado Supreme Court.

Tamir Goldstein

Tamir has tried dozens of cases, and has particular experience in cases and advising clients in construction, real estate, financial services, healthcare, oil & gas, intellectual property, and partnership or corporate disputes.

Mary Sue Greenleaf

Mary Sue Greenleaf's practice focuses on construction, commercial, real estate, and insurance litigation. Mary Sue works with general contractors, subcontractors and property owners as they navigate litigation and other potential challenges within the construction process. From project inception and financing through construction, she advises, negotiates and drafts contracts and agreements that support the strategic business goals of her clients. Mary Sue draws from her litigation experience to help resolve issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. She has represented clients in various commercial and civil litigation matters in both state and federal court including contract disputes, insurance coverage disputes, as well as construction disputes, involving construction defect claims, payment disputes, mechanics lien and payment bond claims, and other related issues. When Mary Sue is not practicing law, she is an active member in numerous professional and community organizations. She is heavily involved with the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and chaired the Boulder Chapter. She is also active in the American Bar Association’s Construction Industry Forum.

Christian Hendrickson

Christian Hendrickson is a trial lawyer whose focus includes disputes arising out of commercial contracts, banking and financial matters, tort claims, and construction, business, and real estate issues. He practices in state and federal courts and regulatory proceedings, primarily in Colorado, and in arbitration proceedings across the country. Christian’s wide-ranging litigation practice enables him to see disputes from many angles, promoting efficient, effective, and, where appropriate, early resolution.

Stephen Hess

Stephen Hess is a member in Sherman & Howard’s Construction industry practice group. His construction and real property practice focuses on construction and real property contracts and the litigation of construction and real property disputes before trial and appellate courts, administrative tribunals, and arbitration panels. In addition, Stephen serves as general outside counsel to a number of construction and real property-related businesses, including developers, general contractors, design professionals, and large subcontractors.

Beth Ann Lennon

Beth Ann Lennon counsels Colorado employers and national companies in all aspects of their labor and employment law needs, from drafting policies and contracts to providing guidance and representation when faced with agency action or litigation in state or federal court. She employs a proactive approach to practicing law, focused on obtaining the best possible results for her clients. Utilizing alternative dispute resolution tools, such as mediation and arbitration, or seeking early resolution through motions practice, Beth Ann has successfully obtained early and cost-effective dismissals for her clients. Whether guiding employers through the complex patchwork of employment laws or defending them in trial, Beth Ann applies a real-world and practical approach to assisting employers in managing their legal risks. Beth Ann is active in professional and civic organizations that promote equality and fairness, including women’s initiatives and LBGTQ rights. She is a founding member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Colorado Lawyers Committee, and the co-chair of the Hate Crimes Education Committee. She also is a regular blogger on current topics related to state and federal employment law issues. Before joining the firm, Beth Ann spent two years clerking for the Honorable Paul Olson in Anchorage, Alaska.

Pat Miller

Patrick “Pat” Miller has nearly two decades of experience assisting companies in developing and implementing workplace safety and health policies and programs, with a particular focus on OSHA- and MSHA-required policies. Pat is a skilled practitioner, offering sophisticated advice to ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations. Representing numerous clients, including big-name clients across many industries, Pat is among the most highly regarded Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) attorneys in Colorado. Clients rely on Pat as a trusted advisor when catastrophic events or workplace fatalities occur. He is incredibly quick, responsive, and skilled in coordinating accident investigations, including emergency response, crisis communications/public relations, OSHA/Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) investigations, and insurance coverage concerns. Pat brings value-added insight when representing employers in handling these matters. Pat also defends companies in litigation before the federal Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, the federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission, and many state-plan occupational safety and health boards. Throughout his career, Pat has handled dozens of investigations involving workplace safety and health accidents and inspections, and he has represented clients in dozens more cases before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and state-plan adjudicative bodies. Also, Pat has extensive experience representing employers’ claims of retaliation brought under numerous federal statutes and state law.

Jay Sturhahn

Jerome “Jay” Sturhahn, a member of the Litigation, Trials & Appeals practice group, regularly represents clients in federal and state courts throughout the United States and internationally. He handles a wide variety of matters for businesses, foundations, and private individuals, assisting them with the formation and execution of legal strategies, whether in the context of trial, risk mitigation, or settlement. He represents clients in matters involving corporate governance, insurance recovery, contractual disputes, construction law, and securities litigation, and has also guided clients through internal investigations. Jay’s clients include the largest electricity generation and transmission cooperative in the western United States. He represents the cooperative in all manner of complex commercial disputes. Before joining Sherman & Howard, Jay clerked for the Honorable James L. Ryan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and was an attorney at Winston & Strawn in Chicago.
