The first landmark data privacy law in the United States goes into effect Jan. 1, 2020. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is set to be the toughest privacy law in the country and will apply to more than 500,000 U.S. businesses. This law broadly expands the rights of consumers and includes significant data disclosure obligations. Following the GDPR’s framework, the CCPA defines specific data subject rights that all covered businesses must be prepared to enforce.

Please join the experts at LDM Global and John Hancock as they discuss what the CCPA means for US companies and data privacy. During this session, focus will be placed on how to proactively ensure compliance and mitigate the impact of the law. This panel will also provide practical tips on how to respond to a data subject access request (DSAR).

This webinar includes:

  • CCPA Overview and Who is Affected
  • How This Landmark US Privacy Law is Changing the Data Privacy Landscape
  • Information Governance and Ensuring Compliance
  • Lessons Learned From the GDPR
  • Practical Steps to Complying with Data Subject Access Requests
  • Additional Steps Companies Can Take to Adopt Compliant Protocols
