Amtel, LLC dba Connectivity Source Notifies 17,835 Current and Former Employees of Recent Data Breach

On May 10, 2023, Amtel, LLC dba Connectivity Source filed a notice of data breach with the Maine Attorney General after learning that an unauthorized party had gained access to the company’s IT network and accessed sensitive information belonging to current and former employees. News of the Connectivity Source data breach is still fresh; however, what we know at this point comes from the company’s filing with the Maine Attorney General. According to this source, on April 19, 2023, Amtel was alerted to suspicious activity within its computer network. In response, the company enlisted the help of a cybersecurity firm to investigate the incident.

The Amtel investigation confirmed that the suspicious activity was in relation to a cyberattack where an unauthorized party was able to access the company’s computer network. The company also learned that the unauthorized party was able to access files that contained highly sensitive information relating to certain current and former employees.

Upon discovering that sensitive consumer data was made available to an unauthorized party, Connectivity Source began to review the affected files to determine what information was compromised and which consumers were impacted. Amtel completed this process on April 21, 2023. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name and Social Security number.

On May 10, 2023, Connectivity Source sent out data breach letters to all individuals whose information was compromised as a result of the recent data security incident.
