The American Petroleum Institute (“API”) recently announced that Kelly Robbins has been named Executive Director of the Arkansas Petroleum Council (“APC”).
As noted in an October 31st post, long-time APC Executive Director Tom Parker retired on December 31st (see previous blog post here).
API is a national trade association representing all facets of the oil and natural gas industry. Its members include integrated companies as well as exploration and production, refining, marketing, pipeline, marine businesses, and service and supply firms.
Kelly is a native of Hot Springs, Arkansas and a veteran Arkansas trade association executive. He previously served as Executive Vice President of the Arkansas Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America and prior to that as Executive Vice President of Arkansas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association.
Kelly’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Arkansas.
An API press release quotes Kelly as stating:
Domestic oil and natural gas development is driving the U.S. economy and supporting business activity across Arkansas, helping to lower energy prices and boost the state economy with more than 8 billion dollars in 2015 (http://www.api.org/news-policy-and-issues/news/2018/01/04/api-names-kelly-robbins-as-executive-director-of-the-arkansas-petroleum-council).
