By Executive Order, New York State Has Tolled Time Limits For Multiple Legal Deadlines Through April 19, 2020

Specifically, time limits for commencing actions, filing notices, motions or other process or proceedings under any statute, local law, ordinance, order, rule or regulation, including but not limited to all time limits under the CPLR are tolled.  The tolling period went into effect on March 20, 2020 and continues until April 19, 2020.

The Executive Order also extended validity of driver’s licenses and non-driver identification cards, vehicle registrations that expired on or after March 1, 2020.  Temporary registration documents issued by auto dealers are valid during the duration of the Order (March 20, 2020 through April 19, 2020).

The Order also tolled the period of time for meetings of shareholders which would otherwise have been required to be noticed or held from March 20, 2020 through April 19, 2020.
