Cantel Medical Corp. has acquired medical device business Medical Innovations Group Holdings Ltd. for $79.5 million, according to press releases.

According to its website, Cantel Medical is a global company dedicated to delivering infection prevention and control products and services for patients, caregivers, and other healthcare providers. Cantel’s website states that its products include specialized medical device reprocessing systems for endoscopy and renal dialysis, advanced water purification equipment, sterilants, disinfectants and cleaners, sterility assurance monitoring products for hospitals and dental clinics, and disposable infection control products primarily for dental and GI endoscopy markets.

According to its website, Medical Innovations, headquartered in Essex, U.K., provides endoscope storage and transport systems including the short-term scope transport system CleanaScope® and the long-term endoscope storage system SureStore®, as well as endoscopy consumables, mobile cart systems, and patient transport systems, and specializes in infection prevention.

David Hemink, President of Medivators Endoscopy, a  Cantel Medical company, stated in the press release that “The addition of Medical Innovations to the Medivators Endoscopy portfolio provides us with a market leading endoscope storage and transport system, and the ability to leverage existing sales channels, particularly in the U.S. and other direct markets, to further accelerate growth.”
