Assistant Secretary of Labor David Zatezalo has announced that a new workplace examination rule for metal and non-metal mines will be effective on June 2, 2018.  The new rule has not yet been published.

But, at this week’s South Central Joint Safety and Health Conference in Dallas, Deputy Assistant Secretary Pat Silvey stated the rule would be published in the coming weeks and the agency would announce a stakeholders meeting to discuss the rule.  Ms. Silvey also stated that details about the rule and related enforcement would be published on the MSHA website.   Stay tuned for more information!
