Biscuitville, a Greensboro, North Carolina-based quick-service restaurant, is known for its scratch-made biscuits and homestyle Southern breakfast food. In the wake of the chaos caused by COVID-19, the restaurant used these core strengths to support multiple philanthropic efforts.

When the world began to change with the onset of the virus, Biscuitville began seeking out local organizations to partner with to help ease the challenges facing healthcare and other essential workers. The restaurants started providing meals to hospital workers who were enduring long shifts, as well as more than a dozen other essential worker groups including first responders, police officers, EMS workers and individuals helping to man COVID-19 hotlines.

Knowing that children have been among the most vulnerable to food insecurity during this time, Biscuitville donated meals to help support organizations such as the Salvation Army Center of Hope who are feeding families three meals a day. The restaurant chain also provided over 74,000 chicken tenders to both early education childcare centers and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina to distribute throughout the state. Through its efforts, Biscuitville was able to feed the homeless in local communities, and also provided hundreds of free biscuit coupons to Guilford County School workers to thank them for their efforts. In addition, Biscuitville donated hundreds of biscuits to Meals on Wheels to feed the homebound senior population.

Biscuitville also donated multiple laptops to Page High School in Greensboro to help provide electronic devices to students as they transitioned from in-classroom learning to online learning.

Biscuitville employees feel blessed to be a part of a growing community of contributors who are each doing their part to assist during this crisis, and look forward to continuing these efforts as long as their communities are in need.
