On May 5, Governor Abbott issued an executive order to expand openings of certain businesses and activities, and specifically impacts HOA amenities such as pools and gyms.

Gyms, Exercise Facilities and Classes |

25 percent of the total listed occupancy of the gym or exercise facility (staff members are not counted)
Locker rooms and shower facilities must remain closed, but restrooms may open
Equipment spaced to allow at least 6 feet of separation between patrons
Regularly/frequently clean and disinfect any regularly touched surfaces (e.g., doorknobs, tables, chairs, restrooms)
Disinfect any items that come into contact with customers
Provide equipment cleaning products throughout the gym or exercise facility or class for use on equipment, including dead weights
Make hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, soap and water, or similar disinfectant readily available
Place visible signage at the gym or exercise facility or class to remind everyone of best hygiene practices
For facilities with 10+ employees present, consider having an individual dedicated to compliance
NOTE: THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS APPLY TO PATRONS
Wear gloves that fully cover from the wrist to the fingers while exercising
Disinfect any equipment before and after use, including exercise machines and dead weights
Equipment brought by the user must be disinfected before and after use (e.g., yoga mats)
