Amendments to the European Commission’s proposal on revised air passenger rights -
On 17 December 2013, the European Parliament’s Transport Committee approved amendments to the European Commission’s proposal on revised air passenger rights aiming at closing loopholes that airlines use to deny compensation to passengers delayed for over three hours. These amendments further restrict grounds for denying information, compensation and assistance, and make it easier for national authorities to penalize airlines that do not fulfil their obligations.
Stakeholder consultation on the establishment of the “Pilot Common Project” supporting the implementation of the European Air Traffic Management Master Plan -
This consultation, that will last until 14 February 2014 is a part of the work the European Commission services are conducting in the context of a future European Commission proposal for the Implementing Regulation on the establishment of the Pilot Common Project (PCP) supporting the implementation of the Air Traffic Management (ATM) Master Plan.

According to a new study published on 9 January 2014, a tightening of the European Commission's proposed regulation on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport would bring greater CO2 cuts as well as lowering operational costs for ship owners by up to €9 million a year. This study follows a Regulation proposed by the European Commission on the monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) of CO2 emissions from maritime transport.
