You better watch out. You better not pout. Better not cry. I’m telling you why. New notary acknowledgement forms are coming to town.
The Florida Legislature amended the requirements for notary acknowledgement forms effective January 1, 2020. After that date, documents and affidavits notarized using the old forms may not be accepted for recording and may be subject to questions regarding the validity of the notary acknowledgement. For all documents notarized on or after January 1, 2020, the notary acknowledgement must indicate whether the person whose signature was notarized appeared before the notary by physical presence or through remote online notarization. We all want to use our extra time and energy in 2020 working on our New Year’s resolutions instead of correcting and re-recording documents because we failed to update our notary acknowledgement forms. Have a safe and happy holiday.
