As an update to our May 8 article, on May 21, Governor Wolf amended his May 7 Executive Order that imposed a moratorium on all evictions. Under the amendment, the moratorium now only applies to tenants who have not paid rent and other amounts owed, or who have stayed beyond the lease end date. The moratorium no longer applies to tenants who commit other defaults of their leases. Landlords can now evict these tenants if their local courts do not have a moratorium in place.
