On March 2, Governor Nikki Haley announced the formation of the Local Government Competitiveness Council. The Council will analyze factors and criteria that impact the ability of local governments to attract, retain, and develop business and industry. 

An excerpt from The Associated Press report via The State:

...city and county governments can benefit or burden the business community, so there should be an analysis of local governments' impact on economic and quality-of-life issues.

Haley says the review will help local officials understand what they can do — and how they should vote — to be more competitive.

Public Infrastructure

Keller Kissam - Senior VP, SCANA Corporation
Deepal S. Eliatamby - President, Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc.
Bob Hughes - President, Hughes Development Corporation

Taxes, Business and Industry, and Regulation

Burnet R. Maybank III - Attorney, Nexsen Pruet
Dr. Rebecca Gunnlaugsson - Economist, Acuitas Economics
