CMS Publishes Correction to CY 2015 Home Health Prospective Payment System Final Rule – On December 2, 2014, CMS published in the Federal Register a correction to its previously published final rule for Medicare Home Health Prospective Payment System rates for CY 2015 (which we previously covered here). According to CMS, it inadvertently stated in the previously published final rule that the therapy reassessment changes are effective for episodes “ending” on or after January 1, 2015. CMS explained that it had intended to state that the therapy reassessment changes are effective for episodes “beginning” on or after January 1, 2015. CMS’s correction is available here.

CMS Issues Correction to FY 2015 IPPS and Long Term Care Hospital PPS Changes – CMS has issued a new change request (Transmittal 3138, dated November 26, 2014) addressing FY 2015 IPPS and Long Term Care Hospital PPS changes, which includes updates to correct information related to technical errors cited in the correction notice to the FY 2015 IPPS Final Rule (CMS-1607-CN, published October 3, 2014). Corrections include an updated Attachment 5, “Uncompensated Care Payment Per Claim Amounts for Provider Specific File” for FY 2015.
