Il mercato statunitense è indubbiamente ancora un mercato, per dimensioni, ricchezza e qualità, tra i più ambiti (anche) per il settore alimentare. Ciò, poi, è particolarmente vero per una nazione tanto nota per le sue eccellenze culinarie come l’Italia; ed in una condizione dell’economia globale che ancora aspetta una ripresa che parta dagli USA.
Il mercato USA ha certamente capienza, posto che già oggi i prodotti di importazione ne costituiscono una parte più che significativa: il 15% del totale dei prodotti alimentari presenti nel mercato americano, il 50% della frutta fresca, il 20% degli ortaggi freschi e l'80% dei prodotti ittici.
