Indiana’s real and personal property tax exemption petitions (Form 136) are normally due on or before April 1st annually.  On March 26, 2020, Indiana Governor Holcomb issued Executive Order 20-12, extending the deadline to file to June 30, 2020.  The text can be found in Section 5(B) and reads:

B.  Suspension of the deadline for submitting property tax exemption applications found under Ind. Code §§ 6-1.1-11-3 & 3.5 from April 1, 2020 until Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

Nonprofits and other taxpayers needing to file or re-file exemption applications now have some breathing room and time to focus on their missions and other activities in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
