The Los Angeles Unified School District ("LAUSD"), the nations largest school district in terms of property owned, seeks to save money, ensure energy reliability, and mitigate its impact on the environment through the use of on-site generation from renewable resources. LAUSD intends to install 50 MW of on-site renewable energy by 2012, a vast majority of which will be achieved through solar PV systems.
