On March 31, 2023, Our Lady of the Lake University (“OLLU”) posted a notice of data breach on its website after the institution learned that an unauthorized party was able to access and remove files containing confidential student information from its computer system. Based on the company’s official filing, the incident resulted in an unauthorized party gaining access to consumers’ names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, government identification numbers, OLLU identification numbers, dates of birth, bank account information, and online credentials. After confirming that consumer data was leaked, OLLU began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals who were impacted by the recent data security incident.

According to this source, on August 30, 2022, OLLU discovered that an unauthorized party had gained access to its computer network. Upon discovering that sensitive student data was made available to an unauthorized party, Our Lady of the Lake University began to review the affected files to determine what information was compromised and which consumers were impacted. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name, Social Security number, driver’s license number, passport number, government identification number, OLLU identification number, date of birth, bank account information, and online credentials.

On March 31, 2023, Our Lady of the Lake University sent out data breach letters to all individuals whose information was compromised as a result of the recent data security incident.
