On March 28, 2017, President Donald Trump signed a “Presidential Executive Order on Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth,” directing executive departments and agencies to review regulations that potentially burden the development or use of domestically produced energy resources. The Executive Order (EO)1 sets the stage for what could become a series of sweeping reversals of the Obama administration’s greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction and climate change polices.
