What Caused the Prestige Care Data Breach?

According to this source, on September 7, 2023, Prestige Care detected suspicious activity within its computer network. In response, Prestige Care launched an investigation, which confirmed its IT system had been infected with malware. This prevented Prestige Care from accessing some of the files on its network.

After learning that sensitive consumer data was accessible to an unauthorized party, Prestige Care reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted.
