A gentle reminder for all those with a turnover above £36 million and doing business in the UK.

The UK Modern Slavery Act requires all companies with a turnover above £36 million and doing business in the UK to publish an annual statement describing the steps taken to prevent slavery in its business and supply chains. These are due within six months of the year end, so if that was 31 December, your statement needs to be published by 30 June. If you have not addressed this yet there is still time to do so and avoid putting your company in a non-compliant situation in this field. If you have not drafted the statement yet, established a policy or trained relevant staff, or if you have any questions or doubts, please contact an attorney. It is not a lengthy process nor too burdensome - but it needs to be done within the required deadline.
