I recently posted the SGR White Paper published jointly by the Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee. Earlier this week, both committees endorsed legislation enacting those concepts.

The section by section summary of the SGR Repeal and Medicare Beneficiary Access Improvement Act of 2013 is attached. Unfortunately, both the House and Senate will adjourn for the holiday, so there is no chance of this being passed before the end of this year.

In the meantime, the House and Senate are expected to pass another temporary SGR delay, and delay the onset of the 24.4% Medicare Physician Fee Schedule reduction required by the SGR for another 3 months.

The House actually passed the “3 month patch” yesterday. The Senate is expected to vote on this bill next week.
