As from 1 May 2018, the SIC will start a new exempt status regime to allow fund managers and principal traders in large multi-service financial groups to avoid having to obtain ad hoc specific exemptions each time the group’s corporate finance department advises on an offer. It also explained its approach to applications to allow partial offers for more than 50% of a target company in its latest Take-Overs Bulletin.
