On January 12, 2024, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services released its full, unredacted 252-page report detailing the department’s rationale for its recommendation to move cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act. We first wrote about this recommendation in August. We still await word from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration on whether it will accept the DHHS rescheduling recommendation. In the days to come, we will publish an analysis of the DHHS report.
