Valley National Bank Files Notice of Data Breach Involving an Unknown Number of Social Security Numbers

On July 25, 2023, Valley National Bank filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Texas after discovering that confidential data that had been provided to the bank was compromised. In this notice, Valley explains that the incident resulted in an unauthorized party being able to access consumers’ sensitive information, which includes their names, Social Security numbers and addresses. Upon completing its investigation, Valley began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was affected by the recent data security incident.
