“Yes, excessive automation at Tesla was a mistake. To be precise, my mistake. Humans are underrated.”Elon Musk, April 13, 2018

Musk’s words will resonate with anyone working in an industry where technology and automation seem to be taking over at staggering rates. As humans have managed to pass along tedious computations and repetitive, algorithmic processes to machines, this trend applies to just about every industry these days, including eDiscovery. But like any technology-assisted endeavor, an efficient and successful eDiscovery process is the perfect marriage between humans and machines.

We need both computers and humans to achieve successful business outcomes. Computers provide the speed, accuracy, and processing power needed to handle large amounts of data quickly and efficiently. Humans provide the strategic thinking, creativity, and interpersonal skills needed to make decisions, solve problems, and communicate effectively.

The bottom line: AI is meant to complement human intelligence, not replace it. Managing complex decision-making processes, problem-solving, and the ability to analyze and understand the true meaning of trends and patterns will forever lie within the most complex organism we know: the human brain.

This webinar will explore the interplay between people and computers. As eDiscovery service providers become increasingly focused on what powerful software can offer, we want to shift our attention to the people who hold true expertise and generate meaningful results.
