Please join Nossaman Environment & Land Use Partner Linda Larson of the Firm’s Seattle office and Nossaman Water Practice Group Associate Willis Hon for "Handling the Heat: The Evolving Nature of Washington's Wildfires," a very timely panel discussion concerning the unique challenges and solutions associated with wildfires in Washington State. Mr. Hon will moderate the panel, which, in addition to Ms. Larson, will also include: Jason Callahan, Director of Government Relations, Washington Forest Protection Association; Dr. Maureen Kennedy, Assistant Professor, University of Washington Tacoma; and additional invited panelists.
Attendees may choose in-person or webinar options for viewing the event, which will examine:
- The evolving characteristics and implications of wildfires in Washington, as well as effects for the greater Pacific Northwest;
- How the state, and the Pacific Northwest more broadly, adapt to the increased frequency and severity of wildfires intensified by climate change; and
- The obstacles and opportunities for forest management including land use, development, and insurance in the context of wildfires.
