Join Braumiller Consulting Group Senior Trade Advisor Mike Smiszek for a workshop on:
Harmonized Tariff Schedule Classification
Training Level: Basic to Intermediate
Why Should You Attend:
The Harmonized System (HS) is used by virtually all countries to determine the duty/taxes and admissibility of imported goods. Because the classification of goods under the HS is a legal determination that directly affects importers’ duty liability and compliance with various regulatory mandates, importers are required to use reasonable care when classifying their goods. This course is intended to provide a basic-to-intermediate understanding of the HTS (the U.S. version of the HS), with an eye towards providing practical knowledge and insights that will improve one’s classification skills and, as a result, protect an importer from the potential dangers of misclassification.

- History and Legal Text of HTS
- Structure of the HTS
- General Rules of Interpretation
