On August 27, 2009, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) announced that the Office of Management and Budget was extending approval of the existing Form I–9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) to August 31, 2012. As such, USCIS has amended the form with a new revision date of August 7, 2009.
