Join us for Bricker Graydon’s Annual Ethics & Professionalism Seminar, an engaging and insightful event designed for in-house legal professionals. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your ethical understanding, explore pro bono opportunities, and prioritize your well-being as a legal professional.

This course has been submitted to the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission of Continuing Legal Education for 2.25 total CLE professional conduct hour(s). Approval is pending.

To our public sector clients and friends: As you are aware, Ohio's ethic laws prohibit us from giving certain public officials gifts, including food and beverages, of a "substantial value". We estimate that the cost of food and beverage at this event will be approximately $15 per person. While we do not consider this amount to be "substantial," we understand that some jurisdictions or individuals may have adopted a more definitive or stringent policy regarding gifts and meals.

  • 1:05 - 1:50 PM: Stress Management for Lawyers
    • Many lawyers might assume that stress is an inevitable part of our jobs. To some degree, this may be true. But is all the stress we experience as lawyers truly something we have no ability to control? Lawyers are commonly chided about managing our stress and told scary stories about the consequences that might befall us if we fail to do so. This seminar is different. You will learn about stress and its potentially negative effects on your mind, body, and work performance, but you’ll also learn something that may surprise you: stress is not all bad. In fact, some stress is good. What separates the two kinds of stress? As we’ll explore in this seminar, it is our response to stress that matters and it is the only aspect of stress that we can control. In this session, we will explore ways that you can respond to stress in a healthy way and how it can help you live up to your ethical obligations as an attorney and enhance your practice and life.
Presenter: Claire Parsons, Attorney, Bricker Graydon
  • 1:50 - 1:55 PM: Closing Remarks
    • Wrap up the day with closing remarks, reflecting on the key takeaways from the seminar.
