On June 14, 2016, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced that it will issue a Final Rule updating its sex discrimination guidelines. The new final regulations are applicable to federal contractors covered by Executive Order 11246 prohibiting sex discrimination in employment.

The OFCCP originally issued guidelines on this subject in 1970 and has not updated them since that time. The new final regulation will become effective on August 16, 2016. Ogletree Deakins’ Affirmative Action and OFCCP Compliance Practice Group is tracking all new developments related to the Final Rule and will publish a more detailed article on the new guidelines on the Affirmative Action / OFCCP blog soon.
