  • California AG Rob Bonta issued a statement applauding an announcement by the FCC detailing plans to reestablish federal net neutrality protections.
  • The FCC’s draft order would reclassify broadband Internet access service in a way that would provide the FCC additional regulatory authority; reinstate certain rules that prohibit blocking, throttling, or engaging in paid or affiliated prioritization arrangements; reinstate standards that prohibit unreasonable interference or unreasonable disadvantage to consumers or edge providers; and establish a multi-faceted enforcement framework, among other things.
  • The FCC is scheduled to vote on the draft order at a Commission meeting on April 25, 2024.
