Yesterday, the Department of Education held the first of two public hearings to hear comments on the agenda for the upcoming negotiated rulemaking, currently slated to include borrower defense to repayment and gainful employment. The second hearing will be held on July 12, 2017.
In addition to the hearings, interested parties may submit written comments on additional topics to be considered by the rulemaking committee. Those comments must be received on or before July 12, 2017 and can be submitted at regulations.gov.
