DaVita acquires portfolio of Fresenius’ South American operations for $300M -

DaVita says the deal for Fresenius’ dialysis centers in Chile was finalized, while regulatory approvals for acquisitions in Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador are likely this year. Combined with DaVita’s existing portfolios in Brazil and Colombia, it’ll have over 270 clinics in South America, making it the largest dialysis services provider on the continent. Fresenius is divesting from non-core assets like dialysis to focus on its pharmaceutical and hospital lines of business. It says proceeds from the sale in South America will pay down the company’s debt.
